Since January 2009, I have been using Twitter on a daily basis for both professional and personal use. Twitter lets me interact with the community and find out what people around me are doing. I often use Twitter to find sources for my stories. As a producer, I also use Twitter to help me find story ideas and tease my newscast. I enjoy going to local TweetUps to meet new people. For example, I recently helped organize Columbia's second Twestival. Twestival is a charity event where cities from all over the world donate money for a good cause. In fact, I have already attended 3 Twestivals.
Facebook is another useful tool that keeps me connected to the community. Unlike Twitter, I use Facebook to post pictures and share links with friends and family.
